To everyone who enquired about our flood in Morpeth, here are some pictures of the changes effected by the Nile like surge..
The water reached an unlikely and scary 50 cm from the front door before stopping for the night.
The garden and all around were submerged and treated to a uniform layer of grey brown sludge.

When I first looked at the photograph you describe as 'the one you nearly ate' I saw a fairy in the bottom of the garden.... but then I like fairies...
What a memorable event. When in the future people mention the day in 2008 when Morpeth flooded, I will be able to recall exactly where I was.
